Leicester Castle
Leicester Castle built by William the Conqueror or Hugh de Grandsmesnil in 1070 AD. The medieval great hall was one of the largest buildings in the castle with stone walls and an open roof supported by oak timbers. Over time the castle fell into disrepair and was eventually demolished, the Great Hall was saved and converted into a court. In the 17th century a fashionable brink fassard was added to the front of the hall.

The Guildhall
This is one of the best examples of a fabulously timber framed hall in England. It dates back from 1390 when it was built by a Guild of Corpus Christi a small but very powerful religious, social group. The hall was used for festivals, banquets and social gatherings it was extended in the 14th century. It eventually became the town hall in the 15th Century, with court room, jury room, jail cells, library and Mayors parlour. Today the Guildhall is used for staging plays and children's activities. It is said to be one of Britain's most haunted buildings.

Belgrave Road is a famous Asian shopping area outside of the City Centre. Indian culture, amazing gold jewellery, fabulous silks and delusions Indian cuisine give this area its local name of "The Golden Mile." It has some of the best shopping atmosphere outside of the Punjab. Belgrade Road has the sights, culinary smells and tastes to keep you interested all day.
